Devi Eye Hospital is the culmination of one man’s vision. Dr. Balakrishana Shetty, MS (OPH), founder and Chairman of Devi Eye Hospital, has Over 33 years of experience in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgical Procedure. He specialises in Phaco Emulsification with fold-able Intra-ocular lens for Cataract Operations & Lasik Laser Procedures.
As a young professional, Dr. Balakrishna was often troubled by the medical world’s lack of empathy and sensitivity to the unique problems faced by patients with visual problems. Devi Eye Hospital is an embodiment of his vision where each patient gets the attention they deserve, in an environment designed to accommodate their special problems.

As an active Eye Care Doctor, Dr. Shetty also founded NammaNetra, Devi Eye Hospital’s community eye care initiative which is dedicated to promoting better eye care for poor and needy . NammaNetra periodically organises free eye check up camps for Diabetics, Glaucoma screening and Computer Vision Syndrome to name a few.
